Tug of Ink
For today's prompt, write a struggle poem.
To board dawn's gleaming bargeWhile seasons ebb and flow...
To know when to say ‘yes’To know when to say ‘no’To hold to hope and happinessAmidst love’s letting go
So much to touch and kissSo much that used to beSo much to balance with the blissOf unpenned poetry
Today is always newImmune it seems, to ageLet’s never grow too old to wooIts poetry to page
Let’s slow dance, cheek to cheekWhat is to be will beEnough, my love to learn to speakIn tongues of poetry
Let the masses deployLong ladders to successEnough, my love, to feast on joyOf poem happiness
To press past the façadeOf front-line highs and lowsAnd to feel the *pleasure of GodIn poems to compose
To board dawn’s gleaming bargeWhile seasons ebb and flowTo stay true to the humble chargeOf life’s ink undertow

"When I run, I feel God's pleasure"
Acts 17:28‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
