Worthy (Wealth Evaluation)

We live in an age not so very much different as ages past...of good intention juxtaposed with temptationand 'being wise in our own eyes' and not always trembling at the consequence of disobedience/rebellion,and its ripple effect... In 1 Samuel 15God rejected Saul as king after Saul rejected/disobeyedthe word of the LORD, though Saul repented,the consequence of his disobedience could not be reversed! 1 Sam.15:20-23And Saul said to Samuel, “But I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and gone on the mission on which the Lord sent me, and brought back Agag king of Amalek; I have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. 21 But the people took of the plunder, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed,to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal.”22 So Samuel said:“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,As in obeying the voice of the Lord?Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,And to heed than the fat of rams.23 For rebellion is as the sin of []witchcraft,And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,He also has rejected you from being king.” Who do we listen to as we make countless choices every day?Whose authority do we reflect/reject as we prove who we belong to; God or self?Do we consider our choice worth the cost?!! All who belong to the FatherBelong to the King of kingsHeirs and joint heirs of love’s AuthorAnd the shares this Sonship brings He is our regal provision/positionHe is the Way, Truth and LifeAnchoring hope where derisionAnd opposition runs rife His wealth defends faith's discoursesInheritance beyond kenWellspring of unplumbed resourcesBids us draw and drink. Amen What unfathomable statureInstills mortal dust to dustPartakers of divine natureEscapees of evil's lust Lord, lest leprosy of spiritSome sinful longing sustainsPray Lord, search the heart and try itLest a wicked way remains God is love; love never forcesAnybody to believeBut the riches He endorsesEach yielded heart will receive Satisfying the soul's hungerWith love's infinite supply Pity all who drift and wanderDisillusioned by the eye Unaffected by the SaviourUnwilling to 'taste and see'   Choosing death's selfish/sinful behaviourRather than bowing the knee Worship is the revelation/elevationOf who we most love and craveEither the God of salvationOr gods, powerless to save Do we rejoice to assembleWith fellow-heirs, undeterredBy this world's off'rings, to trembleAt the power of God's Word Are we part of faith's profession/procession Washed in the blood Jesus spilled Do we treasure faith's possessionOf God's promises fulfilled Janet Martin Rom.8:17and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. 1 Pet.4:12-13Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;  but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. :10-11Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
