This Life Is Full of Lovely Things (in a much-amiss world)

To sun-rise starved Southern Ontarion-ers this morning's stunnerwas like a sweet elixir to the soul! Beneath a rush of blushing wingsA fresh start is unfurled... This life is filled with lovely thingsThe fresh start that each new day bringsAs dawn unfolds translucent wingsWhere God prolongs Time’s graceChild’s laughter to set hearts aglowGardens asleep beneath the snowWaiting for spring to steal the showAs bud-looms burst with lace This life is filled with countless joysMischievous pups and little boysThe beauty each season deploysTo leave us humbly awedWith handiwork by God designedThen etched, splashed, pearled, swirled and entwinedLike surprises we thrill to findOn sky and sea and sod This life is filled with wondrous waysGod wills and grants to gladden daysAnd turn would-be lament to praiseAnd weight of want to loveWhere learning’s tattered lesson-bookIs brightened by bird-song, a brookAnd God-ness, everywhere we look(If we look long enough) …where life is full of you and meAnd Today’s opportunityA hand to hold, a friend to beA tender word to cheerEach other on, through ups and downsTo be part of the art that crownsThe heart and face with smiles, as frownsThat would-be, disappear This life, filled with mercies renewedAs morning rends night’s tent, star-strewedKindles courage with gratitudeIn a much-amiss worldWhere life is full of lovely thingsTo counter cares it surely bringsBeneath dawn's rush of blushing wingsA fresh start is unfurled © Janet Martin It was impossible to capture the full scale of the magnitude of the sunrise witha camera lens. Yesterday's poem-kindling...
