The fight is real, my friendThe enemy we faceWill often tempt us to defendErrors of truth and grace
We should be on our guardArmed with the Word of GodBecause the fight is real and hardAnd without worldly laud
Pride goes before the fallHow careful we should beTo seek God’s Kingdom first of allWith awed humility
The foe we fight is slyUnscrupulous and vileWith all that cannot satisfyHe lures us with a smile
Seduction’s schemes seem sweetEnslavement’s camouflageDisguises stampedes of defeatWith pride’s vain entourage
…and we would all fall preyTo depravity’s sewerWithout God’s Word to light the waySo that we may endure
His divine power grantsEverything that we needTo equip us as we advanceThrough (battle) fields of thought and deed
