Mid-winter Memento
Inspired by today's true story...š
IĀ planned to tend to Task-demandBut then a sea of snowflakes fellIt drew me to the hill and dellTo revel in its wonderland
ā¦where natureās winter-wand unfurledMasterpiece over masterpieceTeasels with toques of frosted fleeceAnd whipped cream snow drifts, swirled and twirled
Each tree, a pencil sketch, I thinkStenciled and traced with white finesseWhite whispers of white happinessRouse a reverent rush of ink
ā¦as brook-nooks that no chill can snareCompose somber half-ballads, ohIts tempo, curtailed by the snowEvokes a eulogy-like air
Where in the wood I stood, full-awedUnfazed by Tasks I should attendTo marvel, where earth's pages bendBeneath the poetry of God
