Living the Dream
Prov.13:12Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
For the 2025 November PAD Chapbook Challenge, poets write a poem a day in the month of November. Day 7 is to write a dream poem.
Ah, once upon a time unfurledShe was a girl, imbibed with dreamsImpatient for the favoured worldOf carefree days where laughter streamsAnd hope is no longer deferredAs longing tips a treasure troveNo longer guarded by a wordOf caution from sweet mother's love
Ah, once into a world of starsShe flew, to learn a dreamer's castSoon scores the hero's heart with scarsAnd sets her on her feet at lastTo dance upon the Day in HandAnd taste the sparkle in life's cup Treading Yesteryear's Promised LandBefore the dream is all used up
