Hope's Sublimity or Recognizing The Comforter
A friend sent me these verses last night to encourage meand help me guard against despair...
2 Cor.4:8-9 NIVWe are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed...
Thank-you Lord!
Thank-you, as you rend night's curtain Whatever today commandsYour hope lets know for certainThat we are in perfect Hands
A prayer to begin a new week...
While I am learning how to love You, Lord, the way I oughtHow to be a reflection of the love that Your love taughtHow not to think more highly of Self than I should, insteadTo live with more awareness of the life-blood that You shedThen, to be much more thankful for the hope Your pardon sealedWhile I am learning hope's bedrock; by your wounds I am healed Have mercy, Lord, while I am learning hope's sublimity;

Hope is grief's HealerIn Christ's wounds whereby we are healed, Hope is manifested.Here we find the tangibility of these truths
Ps.147:3He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Ps.34:18The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
Isa.53:5But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Before Jesus was crucified, resurrected and ascended He promised this;
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit-John 14:15-18

If ye love me, keep my commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,that he may abide with you for ever;Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive,because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him:but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you...
