Holiness of Today or Sacredness of Seeds
Pondering planting is an annual almost-spring activity. We never plant without hope for a good harvestof fruit and flowers!
This line of thinking woke today's poemas I pondered the sacredness of seeds!(those we plant and those we don't)We cannot reap what we do not sow
Each day is like a fallow fieldSoon strewn with seeds of word and deedConsider then, some morrow's yieldWhen harvest will expose the seed
Each morning grants a fresh re-startFor sacred seeds waiting to spillThe Giver of Today impartsAll that we need to trust/do His will
He grants the soundness of His WordTo equip us with truth and loveFor the harvest is undeterredIn the fruit seeds are bound to prove
...where trodden fields we leave behindMay seem to weave a transient pathBut we should ever keep in mindThe future of their aftermath
(For stumbling blocks and stepping stonesAre scattered in word and deed's toll Where carriages of skin and bonesTraverse their wake, bearing the soul)
The seeds that fill the heart and mindAre bound to spill in word and deedOf truth that frees or lies that blind/bindGod, help us pay more earnest heed
...to the holiness of TodayAnd seed-responsibilityWhere the harvest of do-and-sayIs up to likes of you and me
Today awaits our words and deeds God, help us as we sow, to keepClose watch on sacredness of seeds We and/or our children will reap

Luke 8:4-8 & 11-15The Parable of the SowerAnd when a great multitude had gathered, and they had come to Him from every city, He spoke by a parable: “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it. Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold.” When He had said these things He cried, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
The Parable of the Sower Explained
“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.
