Glorious Gift

No joy to comfort groaning griefNo hope to cheer the soul No faith to counter unbeliefOr make our spirits whole
No Light to pierce the sin-dark worldNo peace, no battle wonNo everlasting love unfurledFor each and everyone
No healing from our wounds withinNo cross, no Christendom No forgiveness for our sinIf Jesus had not come
