Free For the Asking

1 Sa.7:12Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer,[] saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us. ” Ebenezer means stone of help. Ps.27:14Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD! Some of the 'sparkle' of joy this Christmas season, feels a bit tarnishedas we think of so many loved ones who are missing loved ones,then we lift each of them by name to Jesus, our everlasting Helper,  Comforter and great joy!His help, comfort and joy are free for the asking and believing/receiving!and beyond compare. What kind comfort to prayTo He who knows all thingsWhose Presence is our Help/hope and StayWhatever today brings To wait upon the LordMay test our patience soreWhile discovering the rewardOf trusting all the more Then, as we trust, our loveRefined through bitter testBegins to shine the glory ofThe One who loves us best *** God helps us if we askHe helps us work and restAnd fulfill life's most common taskWith zeal, contentment-blessed He helps us when we lieOn a sick bed; He hearsThe whimper of the heart-wept cryThe language of our tears He helps us, young or oldAnd bids us, come what mayTo discover riches untoldAs we trust and obey When we don't understandThen yield to dread's alarmsHe lifts us with His faithful HandTo lean upon His arms What sacred libertyTo ask, and then relyUpon the Higher Thought of HeWho does not rush reply Our help in ages past Our Rock of Ages stillOur Cornerstone to hold steadfastFaith, anchored in God's will Janet Martin ; 1 Come, thou Fount of every blessing;tune my heart to sing thy grace;streams of mercy, never ceasing,call for songs of loudest praise.Teach me some melodious sonnet,sung by flaming tongues above;praise the mount!
