For This Unprecedented Age...
For this unprecedented age of immorality; of abortion, adultery, homosexuality, transgenderism, mass confusion, child neglect and abuse, agnosticism, atheism, theism and paganism on and on it goes; there is only one cure! Repentance and belief in the One True God!
Then as belief yields fruits of repentance/obedience to Him through His Word, only then can any real cure begin! In this age of unprecedented distractionesp. through the buffet of options offered through modern technology,God's still, small Voice can be drowned outuntil it goes away...!!!🙏🙏Without careful, prayerful awareness we are all at the riskof drowning the quietness with just enough noiseto keep us from thinking too deeply/aka, hearing God speak!
(I use the phrase 'unprecedented' cautiously but also with awarenessto the reality that due to modern technology and approval by the powers that be, access tocertain atrocities has become medically promoted/commonplacelike never before!)
Thus, thanks in part to modern technologywe are living in an age of unprecedented opportunity and opposition!
The cure for the problem is what it has always been...2 Chron.7:14if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
The page below read a few days ago,(from the book mentioned and )first sparked this poem from a train of thought that has beenongoing recently...(and this book was written in the '60's!!The line that esp. hits home is this one;'and they will be tomorrow's leaders')
And also in part by yesterday's devotionfrom Pathways to His Presence by Charles Stanley
For this unprecedented ageWhere, at epidemical ratesMortal rejects its CreatorAnd fundaments of Truth, debatesOr altogether disregardsWhat once was reverenced, with aweChoosing darkness, rather than lightWithout godly order or law…
For this unprecedented ageOf lack of fear and faith in HeWho is the Saviour of the soulThe sole hope of humanityWhere churches, once ringing with praiseAnd sounds of glorious gospel truthHave been abandoned for the gaspOf worldly pleasure and pursuit
For this unprecedented ageOf pride going before the fallAs nations, founded on God’s WordPromote abandoning it allTo be gods, wise in their own eyesBut are in fact, blind leading blindWhere deceit, like a gaping pitSwallows the unbelieving mind
For this unprecedented ageOf impropriety endorsedAnd applauded by worldly-wiseWithout guilt and shame, or remorseFor this unprecedented ageOf wolves wearing sheep-like disguiseSoothing, smoothing the inner prickWith unbiblical, sweet, sweet lies
For this unprecedented ageOf unbelief, we pray and prayWe, who with faith and fear believeIn the approach of That Great DayOh Lord, we pray and pray that ‘they’Would repent and believe in YouAnd that we who believe would beA vessel that your Light shines through

Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. 2 Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”[] made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
