For Modern Day Adams and Eves...
Now the serpent was more craftythan any beast of the field that the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman,"Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden?'"
I am afraid, however, that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may be led astray from your simple and pure devotion to Christ.
Gilt-edged dawns and gold-ambience-dusks are two of my favorite September things...a bit like glimpses of a long-lost garden called Eden.
This poem's potential began a few mornings ago, though I was unable towrangle it into verse at the time due to other commitments...
Day wakens, crisp and silver-glossedDew glistens, on the fringe of frostSeptember morning, a showcaseOf mist-sashes and gilt-edged graceWhere modern-day Adams and EvesAre still prey for he who deceivesAnd all the progress of the ageCannot temptation's lures assuage Where Eden’s aftermath aboundsWith unrelenting battlegroundsAnd only God’s armor can stayThe charmer’s cunning ploy and playOf ‘Did God really say?’ and suchTo test the quests of taste and touchWith subtle rebuttals of scornFor He who metes September’s mornAnd tumbles before our eyesGilt-edged glimpses of paradiseWhere each new day is like a flueGod's goodness ad mercy runs through

Before we face each day we ought to do an equipment safety checkso we are fitted for battle because'we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,'...
Eph.6:10-18Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.11 Put on the whole armor of God,that you may be able to stand against the []wiles of the devil.12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of []the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God,that you may be able to withstand in the evil day,and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be ableto quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
