Because The Heart Is Prone To Fear...
The heart is prone to fearThe eye to what it seesWithout God’s Word to commandeerHow gullible are these
The ear is how we hearWith voice we speak and singWithout God’s Word to enrich cheerHow hollow noises ring
From minds, thought is unfurledThe hand follows, with deedWithout God’s Word, to gain the worldStill cannot sustain need
Bodies are born to dieDust-to-dust, the Soul’s gownWithout God’s Word, hope is a lieAnd knowledge but a clown
The Soul, God-breathed, enduresBeyond mortalityFaith in God and His word securesIts holy destiny/victory
Headlines spew hateful wrathAnd forecasts, dark and grimGod’s Word is a Light to our pathNo woe/foe its glow can dim
Better to trust the LordIn all we do not knowBecause the power of His WordNo force can overthrow
The heart is prone to fearFear blinds us to the hillsWith peace His Word instills
The heart is quick to yieldTo fear and dread and doubtGod's Word is both a sword and shieldNone can survive without

Eph.6:13-17 BSBTherefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed, and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
