Autumn Aria
Overhead and underneathAutumn spreads wreath over wreathWraps the shiver of earth’s eavesIn an ambience of leaves
Where vermilion lamplight flicksOn gazillion woodland wicksWhere the poet cannot snareThe full essence of the flare
For ink cannot catch the sighOf Autumn’s Leaf-LullabyOr the dance of sun and rainAcross landscape's counterpane
Or the sweeping surge of seasHidden by a verge of treesOr the orchestra that slippedFrom a stage that windsong stripped
